Meals - on average food cost me 4 € per day. I was drinking a tap water in countries such as Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, and Swaziland. In other I was buying bottles in large supermarkets, so the prices were low. Travelling in such developed countries often we bought food which we could prepare on the stove. Zimbabwe has proved to be ridiculously cheap, but was hard to find the meat. Of course a lot of fruits, such bananas, oranges and grapefruit are safe to eat (a thick peel), but we liked mango as well.

Internet - practically there is no problem with Internet access in major cities, and in Namibia, South Africa, Botswana and Swaziland it was available almost everywhere, including hostels. Price range usually from 1 to 3 € per hour.

Weather - cooler months are in winter (dry season), from May to November. However, in the higher altitude parts, particularly in Namibia, South Africa and Lesotho, at the mornings we found the frost on tent. Visiting the national parks is theoretically better during dry season when the grass is low. In summer is more difficult to find a wildlife in high grass.

Currency - there is better to use US dollars more than Euro. So Northern and Western Africa take a €, but in Central and Southern $. As always in the poorer countries a larger notes have better rate.
