I wish you and myself that this page remains as empty as possible. However, I can warn others about my bad experiences.
American Express
Huge worldwide company American Express offers traveller's cheques. If you believe in their advertising, this is a good and safe way carry the money. Lost cheques can be replaced with cash within 24 hours. Unfortunately, this guarantee is only on the paper. When I lost my cheques in Zimbabwe, I called the company and I provided the amount and serial numbers.
They said that 24 hours is not enough, as they must investigate. A few weeks later I received an email with note that my case has been completed and I won’t get any money back, as I haven’t proved the cheques purchase. I checked the conditions – it’s not in agreement. I appealed. Then American Express said that I exchanged those cheques for cash and they have my signature. They did not want to correspond with me. Finally after the trip I visited in person their office in Sydney and asked them for further investigation. Instead they asked me how I travel if I am a student. They showed me signatures on my cheques, which I proved them weren’t mine. And the date of cashing them was after I called them informing bout the lost! Finally they agreed to pay me my money back. The payment transfer to my account took them a bit over 24, well ... days, not hours. Since then, I do not use the services of such an incompetent company.
