Oman
September 2003
From United Arab Emirates I hitchhiked to Oman, a bit further then Hatta. On a short day trip you do not need a visa. Unfortunately, in the absence of any cars the last 7 km I had to walk, and the morning march was in the terrible heat. Fortunately mountain views were nice, and I jumped into fresh water with all cloths on me.
Afternoon I hitchhiking in the shade, and, as in Arab countries is normal, almost every car stops. All locals were nice and helpful. In one of the small Oman settlements (two shops, laundry and mosque) I stopped for an hour to chat with Muslim seller. He had small range of accessories, but among them I found razor made in Poland! I returned to the Emirates on the same day, where I spent the night on the desert.
