Introduction | Sarawak | Brunei | Sabah |
Borneo, sounds proud and wild. But our trip was only in developed part of the island (Malaysia and Brunei). Cities were clean, transport organized, tourist attractions highly commercialized, a lot of jungle grubbed out for palm oil plantation. Just civilization. Due to lack of time we didn’t get to unbeaten routes, and that was a mistake. I am sure this is a great wild area to explore the unknown and virgin jungle - but it need more time and money. Overall, we liked, but this is mainly due to a very fair and friendly attitude of the locals.
However, as a tourist I won’t come back here.
